For families.

When someone you love gets sober, the whole family is recovering too. Here's how to support him — and yourself — while he builds his next phase.

What sober living is

Sober living is a structured, substance-free home for men leaving treatment or ready to change. It sits between treatment and fully independent life: real accountability, real community, and room to rebuild.

At Next Phase, that means 24/7 onsite staff, case management, drug testing, meals included, and a brotherhood of men working toward the same goal.

Support without rescuing

Encourage, listen, and show up — but let him own his recovery. Let the house rules and natural consequences do their work.

Celebrate small wins: meetings attended, a job interview, a week of steady routine. Progress is built on ordinary days.

Take care of yourself

Family members carry a lot. Groups like Al-Anon and Nar-Anon exist so you don't have to carry it alone.

Set clear, loving boundaries — they protect your peace and his recovery.
